This is a contract position covering a Maternity Leave that will start July, 2024 for 14-months.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

Lead replenishment team for the Atlantic region

  • Lead a high performance Grocery replenishment team that is focused on service levels, inventory turns and RSC shrink 
  • Oversee vendor performance with respect to order-fill (service levels) and on-time delivery to the RSCs
  • Set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success and define targets
  • Work with the Vendors, Category Management and Sobeys RSCs and Logistic teams to maximize performance and meet targets 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the replenishment team in the development and management of best-practice inventory management processes that will meet or exceed benchmarks for customer order-fill, freshness and inventory turns
  • Manage overstock and coordinate its sell through to the stores to minimize RSC shrink
  • Partner with Lawton’s merchandising team and RSCs to address service level recovery 
  • Ensure that the replenishment team meets budget financial targets and contributes to the region thought leadership on replenishment strategies
  • Identify and communicate business development opportunities to vendors and category managers, including: freight management, new/emerging products, extension of seasonal availabilities, new sourcing geographies
  • Develop and implement continuous process improvement program with the help of the Director of Process Optimization (Grocery)

Lead National Demand Planning Team

  • Lead and develop  a team of National Grocery Replenishment Demand Planners working with Buyers and CMs to optimize the weekly promotional forecast 
  • Unlock promotional forecasting efficiency opportunities through cross-functional  collaboration  with Category Merchants, Operations, and Grocery Replenishment buying teams across in-scope banners
  • Set KPIS and targets to measure success, including partnering with the BI and Process Optimization teams to establish required performance reporting
  • Develop and implement continuous process improvements with the support of the Optimization team

Lead Sobeys National Allocations Team

  • Lead and develop the National Allocation team responsible for creating and managing store allocation bookings and tables
  • Contribute to the reset of the Allocations process in partnership with Merchandising, Store Operations and Retail Enablement team
  • Set KPIS and targets to measure success, including partnering with the BI and Process Optimization teams to establish required performance reporting

Empower employees and develop top talent 

  • Develop training programs and certification, for Buyers and Demand Planners 
  • Address Employee Experience survey results and feedback to increase team engagement
  • Create opportunities for skill development and career progression to develop talent

What you have to offer:

  • An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience 
  • Extensive experience in the retail grocery business, specifically category management, logistics, and/or store operations
  • Experience working in replenishment, including inventory leadership roles
