Overview

 

Reporting to the Head of Delivery, the focus of the training Specialist is to train and evaluate new Delivery Teammates, modify SOP's when required and work with Training Champions to ensure all follow up training with Delivery Teammates is complete.

Job Description

 

•    Focus on training that demonstrates high quality performance, dedication to safety, consistency and accuracy delivered in a customer focused way;
•    Develop SOP’s and training aids to assist/elevate the training program as the needs of the business dictates;
•    Provide in class and yard/road training to ensure Delivery Teammates are comfortable diving the vans in a safe manner;
•    Provide in class Orientation and facilitate training for Health and Safety and Food Safety to all new and existing teammates;
•    Provide clear communication between relevant departments when required including Shunt and Fleet team;
•    Ensure all team members follow and demonstrate Sobeys workplace standards, practices and training content in a consistent manner;
•    Accurately document and track new hire competency through performance evaluations and training check list(s)Be a member of a dynamic team to refine and improve training procedures;
•    Complete appropriate documentation in a confidential manner;
•    In conjunction with the Health and Safety and Delivery Operations Management, work dynamically to ensure risk assessments, safe working systems, procedures and policies are in place;
•    Provide feedback to the Head of Delivery and Delivery Managers, in order to aid the development of new and existing team members.

Job Requirements

 

Currently in good status as a Delivery, Operations or Inventory teammate. 

Experience training collegues or Supervising new staff

Knowledge of all processes and roles as they pertain to Delivery

Enthusiasm and passion for sharing skillsand knowledge

Works well under pressure

Experience with dealing with challenging situations

Pro-active

Ability to work independently and in a team dynamic
