Overview

The Director, E-Commerce Marketing is accountable for building, leading, and developing a team to launch the Sobeys eCommerce brand and online shopping experience, including launch plan and marketing strategy; customer acquisition and retention strategy; and site and app content, analytics and reporting.

Job Description

Launch e-commerce brand
•    Develop, test, and commercialize the e-commerce brand
•    Develop and execute the e-commerce launch plan and marketing strategy, including budget allocation and media buys (traditional, digital)
•    Identify and deliver brand objectives, guardrails, and KPIs
•    Manage overall marketing budget in line with e-commerce P&L

Manage customer acquisition and retention
•    Leverage data and insights to develop customer acquisition and retention strategies (paid marketing, paid media, email, loyalty, promotions, partnerships, etc.) that  meet e-commerce traffic and sales targets
•    Work with marketing on owned assets and traditional channels
•    Work with loyalty and analytics on customer profiles, segmentation, and targeting
•    Create an aggressive test and learn cadence to optimize campaigns and drive growth
•    Forecast and track campaign effectiveness and refine as needed 

Manage site and app content, reporting, and analytics
•    Leverage Ocado Smart Platform to optimize site and app content (placements, navigation, search, personalization, etc.) to support e-commerce sales, conversion, units per transaction, and dollars per transaction targets
•    Work with Ocado on site and app functionality (UI/UX) and tech road map 
•    Work with merchandising on placements based on promotions strategy and ad planning process 
•    Forecast and track site and app effectiveness and refine as needed 
•    Continually improve approach based on learning and industry best practices

Job Requirements

•    Minimum of 10 years  experience working in Marketing or Branding in eCommerce or Retail 
•    Bachelors Degree or a combination of relevant work experience
•    Experience developing and launching new brand
•    Experience building and leading high performing teams
•    Strategic thinking with deep understanding of e-commerce and retail industry
•    Solid organizational, interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills
•    Proven track record of managing major projects on time and on budget 
•    Proven track record of customer centricity driving deep engagement and retention
