Voilà is a new team dedicated to launching and scaling Sobeys new e-commerce grocery home delivery business. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up within a larger organization. Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
Check the vans for damage, temperature, fuel levels, and direct the vans to the relevant parking location in the yard.
Ensure that vans are parked correctly and efficiently in order for the team to easily locate the vans and bring to the dock doors for loading.
Offload trailers and load vans with frames of groceries
Gas vehicles up if required
Assist with deliveries on-road if required
Aid the fleet team with moving vans to off-site maintenance vendor appointments.
Perform circle check inspection and record information on the van report (new damage, mileage in and out)
Communicate with staff on direction of moving vans to assigned doors and to the inbound and outbound lanes.
Provide guidance and movement of vans around the Spoke yard to the mobile van wash team
Ensure that each DT departing for a route has all the portable van assets that they require for the effective completion of the route.
Schedule for and execute the cleaning of the rear interior of the vans on a regular basis Responsible for cleaning of the cab area of vans.
Perform minor maintenance/upkeep duties on vans.
Responsible for keeping the yard clean and tidy and usable by the various vehicles. (ex: Winter operations of moving vans for snowplows to clear snow)
Any other tasks required by the business
What you have to offer:
Class G Ontario Driver's License Clean Driver's Abstract
1 year Fleet Shunt truck experience preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite eg: Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to submit and receive information to/from the supervisor using the proper communication equipment (radio).
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
SUN - MON - THU - FRI - SAT 2pm - 11pm (6 MONTH CONTRAT)
