Voilà is a new team dedicated to launching and scaling Sobeys new e-commerce grocery home delivery business. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up within a larger organization. Reporting initially to the Head of Operations, the main focus of the Operations Manager is to lead and inspire large teams of people across the inbound and outbound functions of the operation. Providing visible leadership you will focus on employee engagement, efficiency and safety. Driving continuous improvement across all areas of the CFC (Customer Fulfillment Centre), through the operational Team Managers, as an Operations Manager, you will set objectives and be responsible for the performance of Team Leads to meet demanding targets, deadlines and KPI’s to maximise operational performance and efficiency. Ensuring safety is paramount and process compliance across all areas is a key.

Ultimately, you will ensure that our customers receive outstanding service. Initially this will involve working in a pre-go live environment, an opportunity to be involved in an exciting project from the start – not only leaning world leading technology through a testing and commissioning phase – but also an opportunity to embed a market leading culture from the beginning. Once the site is live, the role will include full people management responsibility. 

Job Description


  • Accountability for promoting a culture and environment within the Customer Fulfillment Centre of inclusion and positivity
  • Engage, motivate and support a diverse team in a time-constrained environment
  • Coach and mentor ongoing
  • Support training for Team leads to improve their people leadership skills
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained on all programs (safety, security, housekeeping, sanitation etc.)
  • Data driven decision making
  • Continually seek process improvements that eliminate waste and non-value added activities.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or combination of education and related experience
  • Minimum seven years in senior warehousing, transportation or logistics inventory management position
  • Experience working in a Third Party (3PL) or Retail logistics environment
  • Demonstrated successful experience managing large teams in complex logistics operations
  • Strong technical skills and be very comfortable with data and technol
