Voilà is a new team dedicated to launching and scaling Sobeys new e-commerce grocery home delivery business. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up within a larger organization. You will help launch and operate a new brand in the Alberta, Ontario and Quebec markets powered by Ocado Group’s world-leading e-commerce grocery platform. NIGHT SHIFT (8pm - 6am) Sunday - Wednesday

9-month contract

  • Leads and develops a high performing team, overseeing the entirety of a shift’s Operations in the Customer Fulfillment Centre (CFC). 
  • Approximately 20 direct team reports on shift.
  • Drives team engagement, development, and retention by connecting team to the Voila vision, encouraging innovation, clear communication, and continuous feedback.
  • Supports and participates in the recruitment and retention of Operations team members.
  • Provides guidance and feedback regarding performance to facilitate continuous learning and development of leaders and team members.
  • Maintains a clean, collaborative, and safe work environment.
  • Partners with Management to develop training content, assessments, tracking and ensure quality and compliance.
  • Embeds and sustains Inventory protocols and Standard Operating Policies (SOPs); aligns with Operations function.
  • Leads any audit initiative; complies with all CFC programs, standards, requirements.
  • Responsible for on shift inventory accuracy

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

· Responsible for embedding a culture within the CFC that focuses on employment engagement.

· Provide excellent customer service and engage and enthuse a diverse team in a time-constrained environment.

· Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with the ability to deliver direction and motivate in an effective manner.

· Coach, mentor and inspire, as well as reward and recognize staff.

· Conduct performance reviews and train or make recommendations on training for team leads to improve management ability and enhance professional management skills.

· Ensure staff are properly trained on all programs (safety, security, housekeeping, sanitation etc.)

· Follow up on customer complaints, concerns, and surveys.

· You need to be a proven manager of large teams of people who leads by example and is capable of dealing with all issues that arise from managing people.

· Ensure staff understand their roles and hold them accountable.

· Transfer best practices throughout the organization.

· Analytical rationale and be data driven.

· Continually seek process improvements that eliminate waste and non-value-added activities.

· Identify and eliminate hazards and risks. Conduct incident investigations and action plans, holding staff accountable to safety standards and legislative requirements.

· Maintain a clean safe work environment as per company requirements.

· Adhere to and implement all applicable Food Safety program requirements.

· General Understanding and adherence of Food Safety Policies or relevant Standard Operating Procedures such as General Health and Hygiene, Allergen Policy, Temperature Checks, etc.

What you have to offer:

· A Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or combination of education and related experience.

· Minimum seven years in senior warehousing, transportation, or logistics inventory management position.

· Experience working in a Third Party (3PL) or Retail logistics environment.

· Demonstrated successful experience managing large teams in complex logistics operations.

· Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite

· Results orientated leader with solid judgement and data driven decision making skills.

· Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.

· Demonstrated successful planning and analysis skills.

· Demonstrated successful ability working with cross-functional teams.

· Exceptional hands-on Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge
