Improve operations through effective planning and scheduling of building and equipment maintenance activities and resources. Organize, direct, and control the maintenance department. Actively contribute to a positive and productive working environment.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

• Direct, plan, organize, assign, supervise, and evaluate operating and maintenance repair work to machinery and building electrical/ mechanical systems, completed by operators and selected service contractors
• Administer contracts for building supplies and services
• Manage repairs and maintenance of all equipment to ensure all warranty needs are met
• Manage the capital and operating expenses for maintenance within budgets and forecasts
• Review and ensure compliance with regulatory codes, manufacturer’s requirements, industry practices, company policies/ procedures, and operating performances targets
• Procure, arrange for and direct building and equipment maintenance/ repair, including parts and services purchased
• Develop and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and repair activities with Witron Automation Maintenance Team
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment as per company requirements
• Other duties as required

What you have to offer:

• Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective communication skills (both oral and written)
• Excellent mechanical, analytical, and mathematical skills
• Comfortable and flexible operating in a team environment

• Database and spreadsheet
• Understanding of grocery products distribution as a whole

• Knowledge and experience in maintenance and repair for various types of machinery as well as plant material handling and automation equipment
• Experience in general technical troubleshooting of building equipment and hands-on operating, diagnostics and repair

• Three to five years supervisory experience
• Two or more years of experience in a warehouse maintenance environment
• Experience in a 24/7 automated  retail grocery distribution centre

• Retail support centre 
• Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching 
• Occasionally lift over 88 lbs 
• Two person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs 
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time 
• Possible exposure to extreme temperatures 
• Alertness to other people and vehicles 
• Various shifts including evenings and weekends
