Overview

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a contract opportunity for a Specialist Front End to join our Operations department based out of one of our Western offices depending on the location of the successful candidate.

Job Description

What you will get to do in this fast-paced role:

  • Act as the SME for the Front End initiatives related to systems (e.g. ACS, ISP, SMS, Radiant) and processes for all banners of accountability (e.g. Sobeys, Safeway, Thrifty Foods, Foodland, IGA)
  • Share knowledge with other team members to maximize overall team effectiveness in supporting change
  • Think broadly about store impacts for everything we do in order to influence decisions that will impact the effectiveness of the Front End
  • Drive innovation through a constant pursuit to “wow” our customer and set our Front End teams up for success
  • Triage questions from Dos and MROs on existing systems, processes and tools 
  • Support creation of SOPs, training content and communications for Front End initiatives
  • Collaborate with other Back-Stage support teams to further the “Stores First” mantra 
  • Monitor all system changes to ensure pilots and deploys are handled effectively with a focus of mitigating risk to the business

Job Requirements

What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:

  • Undergraduate degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a Department Manager or equivalent work experience  
  • Working knowledge of Front End processes and tools
  • Full knowledge of company policies and department procedures
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
  • Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and negotiating skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), with French being an asset
  • Ability to influence positive change
  • Proven time management skills
