Directly reports to: RSC Director 


Key Business Functions, Responsibilities & Accountabilities 

  • Collaborate with operations and the dispatch team to ensure loads are scheduled and prepared for on-time shipment
  • Execute on capital plans and maintain operational budgets in collaboration with Central Transportation and the RSC Director
  • Monitor and report productivity, KPI information and on-time service
  • Respond to and ensure customer issues and discrepancies related to deliveries are handled in a professional and timely manner
  • Report and account for variances in productivity
  • Review 3rd party invoices for accuracy
  • Track expenses and provide weekly updates to RSC Director
  • Work with 3rd party partners to ensure scheduled equipment maintenance is conducted within provincially legislated timelines, and ensure the safe operation of all transport vehicles
  • Ensure all back hauls are received by the RSC on schedule
  • Overseeing final mile transport including corporate, franchise and wholesale customers
  • Coach, counsel and discipline as required
  • Yard Management planning and execution
  • Ensure Health and Safety Rules are being followed
  • Liase with 3rd party transport supervisors and management
  • Ensure all systems and tools are being used as instructed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Oversee Transportation Coordinator(s)
  • Participate in KPI and Process improvement forums and discussions
  • Drive innovation and change management with a focus on store execution, cost control and safety


Educational and Working Experience 
Required:

  • Minimum three years experience in warehousing, transportation or logistics asset management
  • Experience working in retail logistics or a distribution centre
     

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated successful experience working with large data files in complex logistics environment
  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or combination of education and related experience

  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
