A Leader of people and processes to support a safe, positive and productive work environment.  To actively engage and direct, floor and support staff, to ensure the accurate and efficient movement of product to properly service all stores and affiliates.  

Job Description


•    Supervise, train and motivate employees to ensure productivity goals are achieved and efficient safe work practices are adhered to
•    Observe work methods, evaluate pallets, maintain timelines and delegate assignments 
•    Analyze, investigate and report accidents and damages
•    Perform the daily observations and requirements of health and safety and food safety programs
•    Monitor and review all reports and develop strategies for improving RSC productivity
•    Assist with identification of vendor non-compliance 
•    Follow the integration and probation period of new employees
•    Manage attendance, leave of absences and discipline records
•    Serve on various committees (e.g. loading committee, receiving committee)
•    Ensure compliance with the early and safe return to work program and accommodation process 
•    Comply with all RSC audit expectations AIB (Food Safety practices and audits)
•    Train new employees on safe operation of power jacks, forklifts and reach trucks 
•    Manage and investigate employee complaints and concerns
•    Seek improvements and innovations to optimize performance and productivity 
•    Participate on the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee as required
•    Contribute to the effectiveness of the RSC’s health and safety program by promoting a safe work culture and maintain integrity of health and safety checklists and inspections
•    Maintain integrity and productivity of workplace management system (EXE) 
•    Performs special projects and other duties as required
 

Job Requirements

Educational and Working Experience
•    High School Diploma
•    Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (preferred)
•    Previous supervisory experience 
•    Experience working in a unionized environment
•    Health and Safety Committee and Food Safety experience 
Technical Skills
•    Minimum of two years’ experience in a retail support centre/distribution centre
•    Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
•    Experience with EXE and SAP Systems considered an asset

Working Conditions
•    Physical work including bending, lifting, reaching and twisting 
•    Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.  
•    Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time 
•    Ability to regularly work in a multi-temperature environment ranging from ambient to 0 C degrees, may need to occasionally spend short periods of time cycle counting/investigating products in the freezer @ -25 degrees.
