The Category Marketing Manager is a pivotal role within marketing, responsible for driving the strategic planning and execution of marketing initiatives across multiple category departments and programs. This position works closely with merchants, banner strategy leads, and cross-functional teams to foster innovation and deliver impactful marketing launches and campaigns. This role demands a proactive, strategic thinker who thrives on collaboration and is dedicated to advancing our market position through creative and data-driven marketing solutions.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
• Category Marketing Departments include (but not limited to, and subject to change based on requirements of business): Produce, Kitchen/HMR, Deli, Floral, NOW, Cross Department initiatives, Ready for You brand + more
• Leads annual and seasonal planning of Category Marketing initiatives, integrating within Banner plans
• Plays a key partner role in Seasonal Tier 1 campaigns, working with partners to highlight key, relevant products and guiding customer insight at the product level
• Develops, plans and executes department & in-store program marketing strategies & plans that align with organizational goals and market opportunities to enhance program visibility, and drive customer trial and repeat
• Crafts robust, data-driven strategic briefs and share with internal & external partners
• Liaises among cross banner strategy leads to ensure cohesive, on brand marketing efforts and optimal resource utilization
• Facilitates and attends regular integration meetings to align on strategies, share insights, program updates and drive collective success across programs
• Responsible for accurate budget management and reporting
• Tracks campaign performance, market trends and applies learnings
• Maintains strong, productive relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring open lines of communication and collaboration
• Gathers and integrates feedback to continuously refine marketing strategies and practices
• Provides regular reports to senior management, highlighting successes, insights gained, and recommendations for future strategies
• Mentors direct report in achieving their goals and developing their skills

What you have to offer:
- Undergraduate Degree in a related discipline
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience
- Strong background in retail marketing, product or category marketing
- Proven track record in developing and executing marketing strategies
- Works with urgency and transparency
- Possesses the unique ability to both build amazing strategies and execute them flawlessly
- Creative mindset with a drive to implement meaningful change
- Strong business acumen - instinctively understands requirements for driving business growth
- Excellent prioritization skills to manage multiple initiatives effectively
