Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Tech Lead – Production Deployment. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

As a Tech Lead – Production Deployment with Sobeys, you will:

 

  • Work in the Platform Administration team within the Enterprise Data Office.
  • Perform production deployments and administration functions within the Snowflake, Informatica, and Tableau platforms.
  • Help to implement and support automation for production deployment.
  • Further develop and communicate the process for production deployments.
  • Investigate and resolve issues within the platforms.
  • Help to implement cost monitoring techniques and optimizations.
  • Implement and maintain user accounts, user authentication methods, databases, warehouses, and roles.
  • Propose and implement database query performance optimizations.
  • Identify system bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
  • Help to implement data encryption/decryption/masking policies to protect sensitive data.

  • Experience with promoting changes to production environments.
  • Hands-on administration experience of relational Databases, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, or comparable.
  • Knowledge of security administration and authentication methods. 
  • Experience implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, and alerts.
  • Experience securing sensitive data (PII/PCI/PHI).
  • Experience with DevOps concepts.
  • Knowledge of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management).
  • Drive for continuous learning around data platforms, including new capabilities and security improvements.   

 
Your experience and resume will show us:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
  • Hands-on administration experience.
  • Extensive experience with SQL.
  • Strong communication and written skills.
