Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a 24-month term opportunity for a Sr Financial Analyst Transformation (24 month term) on our Finance team located in Stellarton, NS.

Job Description

What you will do in this fast-paced role:

  • Assume responsibility and leadership roles of various projects
  • Serve as a business partner for assigned area of responsibility by providing guidance, analysis and recommendations for new business activities and impacts
  • Assist operations with determining which areas require attention and where efforts should be focused for improvements
  • Provide recommendations to improve processes
  • Communicate effectively with functional area managers and employees
  • Analyze/interpret periodic financial results and communicate insights
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting process
  • Develop and manage various reports in multiple systems including SAP, Khalix and BW
  • Conduct ad hoc queries and analysis to support other finance, category management and operations teams as required
  • Prepare and conduct financial presentations by determining presentation criteria, gathering/analyzing data and creating visual aids (e.g. charts; graphs)
  • Ensure quick response to queries and follow up on issues for business and stakeholders
  • Adhere to GAAP and CEO/CFO Certification

Job Requirements

What you resume will demonstrate to us:

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • An Undergraduate Degree
  • Accounting designation (E.g. CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills
  • Intermediate BW, SAP and Khalix skills
  • Wholesale business experience preferred
  • Proficient in GAAP
