Job Description

 

As an Application Developer at Sobeys, your responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Identify functional and technical solutions to meet requirements.
  • Ensure the development of detailed functional, technical and operational specifications for the delivery of recommended solutions.
  • Consider user requirements in the design of solutions for the development and implementation of business technology solutions
  • Perform design and code reviews to ensure solution compliance with IT and team standards and quality software delivery practices
  • Provide accurate estimates from design analyses and specifications for yourself and to support other team members.
  • Identify and define technical and business requirements for solutions.
  • Provide expert knowledge of a particular architecture and discuss how the specific features, functionality, and designs of the solution will meet the business requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation is created, current and accurate prior to solution implementation or changes.
  • Ensure that management is informed of the progress, status and issues related to the activities of the implementation team.
  • Code, test and analyze software and applications. This task includes researching, documenting, and modifying software and specifications throughout the systems development life cycle. 
  • Analyze and modify software to correct errors in a timely and accurate manner and provide progress reports as required.
  • Determine the most effective program/configuration solution from technical specifications provided by an experienced developer or business analyst.
  • In collaboration with the team, estimate the duration of all aspects of the work and meet the schedule.

 

Job description

 

  • Develop unit test plans with detailed test sets.
  • Design and systematically test error-free solutions to evaluate and comply with best practices.
  • Participate in the preparation and documentation of program specifications.
  • Solve problems with less and less supervision.
  • Develop or support software application solutions in a task-oriented project team environment.
  • Provide user, operations and systems documentation for implementation.
  • Assist developers, technical specialists, and senior application systems analysts in conceptualizing and developing new software and systems.
  • Support systems development lifecycle management for large scale projects or multiple medium to small scale projects spanning multiple platforms or solutions involving complex conversions, integrations or new development.
  • Keep abreast of technology and business solutions and future trends.
  • Ensure solutions are compliant with application support requirements.
  • Develop and maintain IT application standards for the design, development and support of IT solutions

 

Job Requirements

 

What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Business.
  • Previous experience developing in Object Oriented languages
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP, including SAP ABAP,SAP BW, SAP S4, BAdIs, BAPIs, RFCs – within this role you will be required to design and develop extensively within SAP Systems
  • Experience developing within web based,Fiori, or Cloud Platform environments would be an asset - within this role you may be required to design and develop within SAP Cloud Platform (previously HCI – HANA Cloud Integration)
  • Experience in ABAP as well as knowledge of SAP BW. Any other SAP topics related to SAP Finance would also be a great asset. 
  • Bilingual in French and English (an asset)
