Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full time opportunity for an Manager Tech Solutions - Logistics. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

As a IT Product Manager, Logistics Portfolio with Sobeys, you will:

 

  • Solution Management - manage a multi skilled team who manages a portfolio of solutions through its entire lifecycle, from day-to-day, design, delivery, operations, continual improvement, through to decommissioning. 
  • Leads one or more teams or pods comprised of a Tech Lead, Developers, Solution Architects, Application Support Analysts (Solution Owners) and other roles as required. Responsible to request support resources from the COEs for the team as required.
  • Articulate the business value to the solution team so they understand the intent behind the new solution or solution release
  • Solution Strategy and Roadmap – Working with the Business Solution Engagement Manager responsible to lead the development and ongoing refinement of the overall Solution Strategy and Roadmap. 
  • Backlog Management – Owns and ensures the backlog management is always current, accurately prioritized and categorized for incidents, requests, enhancements to deliver a high quality solution, coordinated and communicated with input from the BRM
  • Manage the release process and coordinating all of the activities required to bring the solution to go live working closely with BSEM, Quality Engineering Team and EPMO.
  • User Experience – Work with the IT Business Solution Engagement Manager to understand the User Experience and coordinate the build/configuration of a quality solution
  • Manages a team supporting career development, performance evaluation and people management
  • Solution Development & Configuration – Work with the Solution team to ensure the solution as built and configured meets the business objectives and delivers the intended value; and adheres to internal design, development, and release standards. 
  • Solution & Service Design –Ensures the overall solution / service design meets the business objectives and expectations; ensuring solution alignment with all organization and industry standards
  • Production Support – provide solutions and support to production issues in your portfolio of products.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (preferred), Business Administration or related degree or relevant experience in Technology.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate team members and know how to efficiently make important decisions. 
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching solutions.
  • Prior experience in Logistics or Supply Chain would be preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of a solution life cycle.
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Understand and predict the needs of the business.
  • Prioritise projects according to business’ needs.
  • Help with planning and execution of most valuable projects.
