Overview

The Manager, Local Store Marketing, actively contributes to the Brand Marketing team acting as a champion of the Sobeys and Safeway Brands, specifically focused on growth opportunities relevant to the local/regional store environment. They will assist in brand strategy and planning and in the development and execution of integrated marketing plans for the Sobeys & Safeway banners.  They will work with a cross functional team of internal and external/agency partners to help bring the strategy to life for the consumer.

Job Description

  • Develop, plan, and execute for Sobeys & Safeway, the Local Store and Multi-cultural marketing campaigns, both in-store and out of stores with a robust emphasis on digital and social marketing
  • Works collaboratively with Retail Operations team members to develop initiatives designed to capitalize on local market opportunities and react to competitive challenges 
  • Leads multi-cultural marketing initiatives across Sobeys and Safeway banners
  • Maintain brand expression and standards for the Sobeys & Safeway brands.
  • Develop creative marketing briefs and responsible for sharing with internal teams and agencies.
  • Oversee program integration across channels, negotiating activities between departments and execution for print, social and digital.
  • Oversight of campaign and advertising production for Full Service brand campaigns; including flyer, POS and digital materials; Photo Studio, Digital Asset Management and Creative Services project intake and scheduling; pre-media activities relating to training and financial tracking; Omni-channel distribution optimization.
  • Responsible for budget management and reporting for your own marketing program.
  • Contribute in managing coordinator role including selection, orientation, ongoing training and development and performance management
  • Responsible for assisting with the development and the execution of the long-term strategic plans for the Full Service brands

 

Job Requirements

  • Ability to think and act strategically, while playing a hands-on role in the execution of Marketing plans 
  • Ability to provide solutions and to think and act quickly 
  • Highly collaborative across functions.  Ability to build partnerships, set and manage priorities, and meet deadlines, all within a multi-tasking environment.  
  • Ability to develop clear communication plans that contribute to the success of the brand and KPIʼs
  • Ability to manage budget and report on budget trends
  • Digital & social savvy with a finger on the pulse of media innovation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to the changing environment or retail
  • Ability to be innovative and be creative 
  • 7-10 years marketing expertise from within the industry preferred
  • Brand marketing and retail experience preferred
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to sell ideas internally throughout the organization as well as externally with third parties. 
  • Proven track record of collaborative leadership.  Demonstrated ability to develop and execute programs in partnership with retail operations function an asset.
  • Proven track record of managing diverse projects and working teams to reach goals and timelines
  • Curious, creative, passion for food and solution oriented
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-cultural marketing will be considered an asset
