Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have several openings for Financial Analysts, Sourcing & Analytics to join our Finance team.
*This opportunity is for 12-month.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
• Support analytics of accounts payable data to identify potential fraud, waste, and abuse.
• Collaborate with teams across Finance, Operations, and Merchandising.
• Develop repeatable processes for auditing complex supplier spend
• Work with Sourcing to analyze supplier contract compliance
• Work closely with leaders across the CFO organization
• Communicate effectively and collaborate to address senior management inquiries.
• Continuously seek process improvements to enhance efficiency and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse.
What you have to offer:
• A relevant university degree (Business with a focus in Accounting, Finance, etc.)
• 2 years relevant experience in Accounting/Finance
• Strong computer skills; Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Proven time management, organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to anticipate issues and recommend appropriate actions
• Able to work in a team environment and help train others
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences and levels of management
• Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, and under limited supervision with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage sensitive information and situations involving internal and external customers
• Intuitive approach to Continuous Improvement
• Experience with SAP
• Professional designation (CPA) or working towards one, an asset
