Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! The Financial Analyst, Environmental Social Governance (ESG) role is an integral part of our ESG Finance team.

 

This role can be based out of our office in either Stellarton, Nova Scotia or Mississauga, Ontario.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Work with the innovative Sustainability team as the Company creates a sustainable business through our Climate Action Plan
  • Work with rating agencies to ensure their database are up to date and communicating with them to ensure we keep pace as they evolve
  • Work with the ESG business partners on the Sustainable Business Report (SBR), specifically on the metrics. This includes ensuring proper control documentation for the metrics, and tracking and reporting the metrics to Senior Management
  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining monthly, quarterly and annual sustainability metric reports, including data collection and analysis to support company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with ESG business partners on exciting new projects
  • Keep up to date with the best-in-class ESG disclosure and competitor ESG activity
  • Work with IR team to craft ESG Investor Relations messaging
  • Build ESG Finance presence at the Company

What you have to offer:

  • An undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance
  • 2+ years work experience in accounting or financial analysis
  • An interest in ESG and knowledge of key ESG topics
  • Professional Accounting Designation attained or in progress, CPA preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Track record of effectively working in a cross-functional environment
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office (including intermediate Excel skills)
