We currently have a full time opportunity for an Director Technology Solutions - CFO. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

As a Director Technology Solutions Finance with Sobeys, you will:

 

Individual Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

Business Relationship Management- Establish the partnership between the business and IT, acting as a single point of contact, ensuring that technology is enabling the business throughout the entire product lifecycle, from strategy to operations, continual improvement and ongoing support. Build and evaluate business cases and promote business sponsorships

Solution Management – responsible for a team that translates requirements into solutions, builds, configures and tests the solutions, and maintain the solution through backlog management, continual improvement and release management. For Packaged applications ensure the product stays vanilla, if not work with business partner on justification/benefits to customize gaining approvals and working with application vendor to add feature to standard. 
    
Team Management – Manage a team of Solution Managers, Business Engagement Managers, Enterprise/Solution Architects, Application System Analysts, Developers, Tech Leads, Scrum leads, and Business Analysts. Ensure the team has appropriate resourcing for day-to-day product delivery, projects, and operational support. 

Budget Management & Tracking – Manage the budget as it relates to the yearly budgeting cycle and manage the burn down against the product backlog, prioritization and approved spend. 

Contracts Management – Accountable for all contracts under a portfolio of systems, including legal, security, privacy approvals, and costing negotiations.

 

Key cross-functional accountabilities with other lines of business

 

  • Partner with ePMO to ensure consistent enterprise program methodology is being followed.  For Tier 1 projects work with ePMO for resourcing, funding and program/portfolio management. 
  • Partner with Business on strategic new initiatives/solutions, business requirements and backlog management/prioritization and alignment with business expectations. 
  • Partner with the Infrastructure and Security teams to support their involvement in Solution Management and business Service Level requirements.

What you have to offer:

 

Your experience and resume will show us

 

  • An undergraduate or master’s degree in computer science or business.
  • 10+ years’ experience in leading IT projects and processes.
  • Bilingual (French/English) an asset.
  • The candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada.
  • Experience in SAP Financials is preferred
  • Demonstrated Leadership experience and managing teams.
  • Experience managing several complex systems.

 

Skills

 

  • Strategic mindset including road mapping with innovation and creativity.
  • Experience with a portfolio of systems management including projects, backlog and maintenance.
  • Wide-ranging experience in the planning and deployment of business and IT initiatives.
  • Experience developing and coaching a diverse high performing team.
