Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a 2 years contract opportunity for a Coordinator Unix Systems. This role is based out of our main office in Stellarton, NS
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
As a Coordinator Unix Systems at Sobeys you will:
- Administration of virtualized Unix environments (Power VM/Cloud)
- Install Operating System software, upgrades, maintenance fixes/patches, and third-party software applications following industry standards.
- Perform data gathering, debugging, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
- Participate in data center hardware installations.
- Support and work with consultants/technicians to correct any hardware/OS problems that may arise.
- Data Storage Management.
- Develop and maintain Technical Documents for systems, databases and applications.
- Perform after-hours maintenance tasks.

What you have to offer:
Your Resume should clearly outline the following experience:
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a relevant work experience is preferred
- Some experience in a UNIX/LINUX based systems administration role
- Database experience is considered an asset
- Administer Cloud and on-premises environments to ensure their availability, reliability, security, and integrity.
- Collaborate with other IT functional areas and project teams to implement, deploy, and maintain cloud and on premises solutions.
- Work closely with IT Security and Center of Excellence teams to implement industry best practices.
