Overview

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a  Accountant to join our Finance team. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Montreal, QC.
 

Job Description

As an Accountant you will:

Accurately account for transactions in the general ledger accounts
Prepare and review working papers that support account balances, and investigation of any issues
Prepare and post journal entries
Complete period-end close processes, controls, and procedures
Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO Certification requirements
Participate in the internal and external audit of assigned company codes and account
Prepare various analytical and ad-hoc reports
 

Job Requirements

What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:

University Degree and Accounting Designation CPA (or in the process of obtaining) preferred
A minimum of 2 years ‘experience in accounting or related field
Knowledge of SAP preferred
Solid analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
