Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

• Coordinate the daily activities of Receivers, Shippers, Clerical Support, and Clerks

• Work closely with Procurement and Inbound / Outbound

• Contribute to the effectiveness of the Central Kitchen’s health and safety program by promoting a safe work culture

• Provide employees with instruction, information, supervision, and facilities to encourage ongoing safe work practices

• Maintain integrity of system productivity monitors and review all reports and develops strategies for improving site productivity

• Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as required

• Prompt implementation of new or revised Manufacturing programs and standards

• Ensure all checklists and inspections are complete, current, and accurate

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements

• Maintain superior customer service levels with both internal and external customers.

• Identify and analyze areas for cost reduction or margin improvement.

• Ensure adherence to Sobeys policies, procedures, and practices.

• Strive for continuous improvement.

• Administrative duties related to production, shipping, and quality performance.

 

Working Conditions:

• Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching

• Occasionally lift over 88 lbs

• Two person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

• Alertness to other people and vehicles

• Various shifts including evenings and weekends

What you have to offer:

 

A minimum of two years experience in a warehouse, food manufacturing environment, retail or production operations

• Certified to operate mobile equipment

• Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (preferred)

• Previous supervisory experience (preferred)

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.

• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Critical thinking, analytical and detail oriented, preferred.

• Must be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback.
