A day in the life of an Order Selector:

The Selector will provide customers and stores with accurate and secure orders in a timely and safe manner. The Selector will also fulfill all assigned duties in all areas of the Central Kitchen. Actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Experience:

  • No previous experience is required. 
  • Previous Warehouse experience is an asset.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to work at a consistent pace throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated and team oriented.
  • Works in a Safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to work Ability to work in a cool environment for prolonged periods (4 to 6 degrees Celsius).
  • Must be available to work night shifts and available for weekends.

• Assemble orders for shipment to stores
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirement
• Other duties as required

What you have to offer:

• Partial High School
• No previous experience required

• Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching 
• Occasionally lift over 88 lbs 
• Two person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs 
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time 
• Possible exposure to extreme temperatures 
• Alertness to other people and vehicles 
• Various shifts including evenings and weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations.
  • Assemble orders for shipment to stores.
  • Operates equipment in a safe matter to perform selection tasks.
  • Ensure products are handled, organized and stored safely and securely to minimize damage and spoilage when picking.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirement, promptly reporting any maintenance equipment damages, repairs, or malfunctions.
  • Understand and follow all safety standards including safety training, handling of chemicals (WHIMIS), good manufacturing practices (GMP’S), and using personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain and update documentation as required.
  • Follow approved procedures for code dating and rotation of products.
  • Other duties as required.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

(Seldom: Not Daily, Rare: 0-5% of shift, Occasional: 6-33% of shift, Frequent: 34-66% of shift, Constant: 66-100% of shift)

 

  • Constant lifting and carrying of less than 20 pounds.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Constant reaching below shoulder level.
  • Frequent bending and twisting.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 60 pounds including waist level and low-level lifts.
  • Ability to handle a cool working environment of 1 to 4 degrees Celsius.
