Merchandising - located in Rocky View County, Alberta (106 High Plains Bay, T4A 3N4), has an opening for a BUYER PLANNER. This is an exciting opportunity that brings together the retail grocery sector and an enhanced culinary experience. The successful candidate will require exceptional leadership combined with relentless drive to implement best practices to achieve a wonderful overall customer experience.

 

Please note that this facility is open 7 days per week so the schedule will be dependent on the business operation. 

 

Qualifications:

· 4-year business degree or related field and/or 5 years of related job experience in a food manufacturing environment, food service, in restaurants, hotel management, retail or production operations.

· Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.

· Experience in production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and cost analysis.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and production planning software.

· Resourcefulness and critical thinking skills.

· Strong knowledge of Accounting Software.

· Understanding of manufacturing regulations regarding safety, quality, HACCP, BRC, Federal Regulations and GMP’s.

· Ability to analyze cost performance data to improve operations and reduce costs.

· Must be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback.

· Order ingredients, packaging, and supplies.

· Maintain superior customer service levels with both internal and external customers.

· Identify and analyze areas for cost reduction or margin improvement.

· Ensure adherence to Sobeys policies, procedures, and practices.
