Job Description

 

  • Responsible for explaining to team and partners the periodic variations in gross profit results vs. Budget and past year (Sales, Margin, Vendor revenues, Rebates, Patronage, etc.).
  • Analysis, interpretation, presentation, and recommendation on weekly financial impacts of gross profit.
  • Designed and presented profitability analyses of circular promotions at marketing and advised partners on the best strategies to adopt.
  • Prepare new analytical reports to support the various needs of the merchandising and marketing department.
  • Produce periodic estimates of gross profit results.
  • Significant participation in the annual gross profit budget process.
  • In charge of various projects, participate in changes and innovation, adapt analytical tools, and propose new management controls.
  • Responsible for explaining annual and quarterly variances to internal and external auditors.
  • Record various journal entries to ensure proper accounting treatment of results.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting combined with five (5) years of relevant experience (any other combination deemed equivalent will be considered).
  • A CPA designation is an asset.
  • You have a perfect command of the Windows environment, particularly advanced Excel, and Access.
  • You are recognized for your autonomy, your analytical skills, your initiative, and your organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism is required (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of SAP, BW and Longview systems is an asset.
