Support the IHM strategic direction, providing and maintaining healthy, safe, and secure workplaces for corporate retail locations, Distribution Centers and offices in their regional area. Ensure corporate program and policies are implemented appropriately in line with legislative compliance to drive a safety culture within the business and continue to reduce workplace incidents.
 

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Support regional locations with legislative compliance
  • Conduct annual national safety audits at Distribution and E-Commerce locations
  • Participate in national safety related project development and implementation
  • Analyze workplace incidents for root cause and corrective actions
  • Work closely with Operations management to answer questions, provide guidance on safety matters
  • Interface with provincial health and safety authorities to address any issues related to inspections and incidents that require escalation
  • Validate data and analyze accident trends; recommend corrective and preventative actions to decrease accident frequency
  • Ensure OHS training sessions for retail locations, RSCs and offices meet our standards
     

What you have to offer:

  • 3-5 years experience managing OHS in a unionized environment related to retail and/or logistics preferred; experience in a large organization with multiple operations
  • Post secondary degree in related health and safety field==
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) act and associated regulations in ON and QC, auditing protocols
  • Fluent both in French & English
  • Confortable lifting up to 22lbs
