We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Petroleum Analyst to join our team based in our Montreal, Quebec office.  

Job description

 

Reporting to the Manager, Finance - Petroleum Proximity Stores, the main role of the Petroleum Analyst is the management of merchants' petroleum inventories.

 

More specifically, he will be responsible for:

 

• Proceed with the evaluation of oil inventories by site, both in dollars and in quantities;

• Analyze the sales declared by the operating agents;

• Provide support to district managers;

• Analyze expenditure items for each period;

• Verify purchases and sales of operator agents;

• Validate oil inventory losses and gains;

• Perform specific analyzes and special projects;

• Perform various end-of-period tasks and all other related tasks.

Job requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • You hold a professional accounting designation or are in the process of obtaining it (Asset);
  • Have at least one year of experience as an analyst (Asset).
  • You have an excellent command of Excel (advanced level) and good knowledge of SAP and Longview (an asset);
  • You are familiar with retail and wholesale accounting (an asset).
  • Autonomous, dynamic and show initiative. //You are rigorous and have an eye for detail. // You find it easy to establish good interpersonal relationships.
  • Excellent command of oral and written French
  • Written and spoken English language, intermediate level. The individual will be required to work with their peers in other provinces in the design, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, and also provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada. 20% of the time the teammate will have to use a language other than French.
  • Good skills in communicating effectively both orally and in writing
