Reporting to the Manager of Digital Customer Engagement Strategy, the Specialist will lead the strategy, targeting, and personalization design for national customer engagement campaigns across Sobeys banners. This role focuses on defining campaign frameworks, aligning business priorities with customer value, and ensuring campaigns deliver measurable impact. The Specialist collaborates closely with the Campaign Strategy & Development team, Campaign Deployment team, Channel Analytics, and Creative Enablement to ensure campaigns are delivered flawlessly and optimized continuously.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
- Campaign Strategy
- Lead the strategic design of key national customer engagement campaigns, ensuring alignment with enterprise and banner objectives.
- Translate campaign goals into clear targeting, personalization, and content strategies.
- Provide strategic briefs and direction to Campaign Development for execution planning.
- Personalization & Targeting
- Define and evolve personalization logic for campaigns using declared preferences, behavioural data, and predictive insights.
- Partner with Consumer Insights, Data, and Analytics teams to integrate customer insights into campaign targeting.
- Ensure campaign strategies scale consistently across banners and digital channels (email, push, SMS, app, web, and media audiences).
- Performance & Storytelling
- Partner with Analytics teams to measure campaign outcomes and identify optimization opportunities.
- Present campaign results and insights to stakeholders, clearly linking engagement to business impact.
- Apply test-and-learn approaches to improve targeting, messaging, and personalization over time.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Store Operations, Merchandising, Loyalty, and Customer Care to align campaign strategies with enterprise initiatives.
- Work closely with Creative Enablement to ensure campaign creative reflects strategic objectives and personalization rules.
- Build and manage partnership with Retail Media and Media teams to ensure campaigns complement broader marketing initiatives.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with best practices in personalization, omni-channel engagement, and AI-driven marketing.
- Recommend pilots and innovations to elevate campaign performance and customer experience.
- Continuously refine targeting and personalization frameworks to maximize engagement and ROI.

What you have to offer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in customer engagement strategy, omni-channel campaigns, and personalization.
- Strong knowledge of segmentation, predictive modelling, and CRM data applications.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar CRM platforms (asset).
- AI-enabled personalization, data-driven marketing, or next-best-action approaches (an asset).
- Proven ability to link campaign strategy to measurable business results.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-visibility campaigns with precision and attention to detail.
- Collaborative and diplomatic, with strong cross-functional influence.
- Bilingual with strong written and oral communication skills in French and English (an asset).
