The Store Communications Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and executing communication strategies for stores across the organization. They ensure that store communication aligns with project outcomes and operational best practices. The role involves leading teams tasked with implementing communication plans related to company-wide projects and initiatives.

Mission: Develop Effective Communication for Stores

Communication Strategy

  • Design and implement a communication strategy aligned with business needs and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the director to ensure optimal execution.

Expertise and Optimization

  • Advise commercial teams to maximize the impact of communications.
  • Measure the effectiveness of actions and propose continuous improvements.
  • Identify the most suitable channels and establish processes to resolve issues while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Monitoring and Innovation

  • Stay informed about trends and innovations in communication to anticipate changes.
  • Develop and optimize communication capabilities and channels.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Align communication strategies with project, cross-functional, and corporate teams.
  • Ensure the optimization of systems and platforms to achieve business results.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance store communication.

Resource Management

  • Prioritize projects and requests to manage resources effectively.
  • Share knowledge to support skill development within teams.

Leadership and Talent Development

  • Guide, train, and empower team members to ensure their performance.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of employees.
  • Create opportunities for skill development and career growth to nurture talent.

What you have to offer:

  • Degree in communication, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • Bilingualism is required.
  • Must be occasionally available outside of normal business hours to respond to emergencies and provide store support
  • Five to eight years of experience in communication, project management, or related fields.
  • Three years of personnel management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in operations and retail is an asset.
  • Proven experience in project execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

The candidate will collaborate with peers from other provinces to develop, implement, and refine tools and processes on a Canada-wide scale, while also providing support to Sobeys employees across the country.
