We’re looking for a Compensation Director who is highly analytical and process oriented that builds meaningful cross-functional partnerships and fosters a high-performance, inclusive workplace. In this role, you'll manage a team of compensation specialists and will own the national compensation programs across our retail and distribution operations.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
- Support the development and delivery of analytical data, benchmarking, research, and compensation modeling for base salary programs.
- Provide ongoing market insights and pay trend reporting to inform compensation decisions.
- Support the end-to-end process and optimize user experience for the annual salary review and incentive cycle.
- Drive standardized policies and practices for base salary administration across retail and operational teams in alignment with internal compensation philosophy and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to advise on salary management practices and resolve compensation-related challenges.
- Oversee pay equity governance for Ontario and Quebec and ensure compliance through deployment of the Pay Equity Toolkit to corporate stores and franchisees.
- Serve as a compensation subject matter expert to HR Business Partners and operational leadership.
- Own, Transform and drive the wage scale and minimum wage strategy while implementing annual wage scale updates.
- Participate in the evolution and streamlining of compensation processes, tools, and systems.
- Work closely with the Labour Relations Team to support consistency with CBA and Non-CBA Retail and Distribution Pay Scales
- Lead and develop a team of compensation professionals, fostering growth, accountability, and collaboration
What you have to offer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Labour Relations or a related field, CCP or HR designation is an asset
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or strategic Compensation leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of compensation practices, pay equity and employment law
- Solid team leadership experience with a proven ability to coach and mentor direct reports
- Demonstrated ability to coach and influence leaders and HR Professionals, foster engagement, and support cross-functional collaboration
- Experience developing and executing salary and wage scale strategies
- Proficient to advance knowledge of analytical methodologies
- Flexibility to travel as needed based on business requirements
- Knowledge of English is required, as the candidate will be expected to work closely with peers in other provinces in planning, developing and implementing processes and participating in key national strategic projects. The incumbent will also have to supervise members of her team who are based in provinces other than Québec.
