Job Description

Under the supervision of the Manager, Demand Planning, the incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, understanding and forecasting market demand, based on the assigned categories.

 


More specifically, the candidate will be required to:

  • Manage accurate demand forecasts that incorporate current and relevant market information to predict customer demand and provide buying team with the right information to plan to meet that demand;
  • Coordinate promotional activities (store distribution, major promotions) with distribution and replenishment teams;
  • Identify forecast accuracy root causes and refine process to ensure continuous improvement of the overall process;
  • Support the company’s long term strategy and inventory reduction while maintaining high Customer Service level metrics;
  • Track projections and recommend appropriate action to achieve service level metrics;
  • Work with Replenishment, Category Management, Marketing, Process Optimization and Merchandising Services to understand forecast and trends;
  • Develop reports to determine priorities and areas of opportunity and confirm/communicates results; creates ad hoc reports as necessary.

Job Requirements

  • An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; 
  • Deep understanding of the supply chain and our business;
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English (written and spoken); 
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel (intermediate to advance); 
  • Fresh or Grocery experience (as applicable);
  • Knowledge of SAP (good to have);
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of the business affecting the forecast process;
  • Ability to communicate and present information to all levels of management with supporting analysis and assumptions.
