Job Description

  • Produce accurate reports and complete analyzes to put forward suggestions to improve financial results, processes and marketing improvements
  • Actively seek and identify process improvements within the cost and promotions team and communicate key findings and opportunities to align key processes
  • Provide expertise and practical assistance in the investigation, evaluation and ad hoc interpretation of data
  • Support category management in the development and execution of category strategies by providing supplier data and insights
  • Maintain relationships with category management, operations, merchandising and IT departments
  • Help support go-to-market departments to further improve existing processes and error handling
  • Identify and communicate process opportunities and create playback to key stakeholders to enable decision making
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects
  • Support go-to-market initiatives by ensuring process efficiencies are in place to effectively serve our customers  

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in designing and building data analysis solutions in SQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server databases
  • Knowledge of SAP, ACCESS, SAS (an important asset)
  • Retail experience preferred
  • English language (written and verbal, advanced level. The individual will be required to work with their peers in other provinces in the design, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, and also provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada. 75% of the time the teammate will have to use a language other than French.
  • Understanding of complex statistical models and methodologies
