We’re looking for a Strategic Sourcing IT Manager to lead sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management for a dynamic portfolio of IT services. This role is key to driving value, reducing total cost of ownership, and mitigating risk across Sobeys’ technology landscape. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver sourcing solutions that support business goals.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

  • Develop and execute category strategies end-to-end
  • Strategically source a complex portfolio of services with emphasis in IT using tools, processes, and strategies
  • Set direction and priorities for team on projects
  • Lead and/or support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Achieve stakeholder business requirements, scope of work, and budget while effectively capturing spend and savings
  • Be a trusted advisor by developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, with forward-looking planning to anticipate and support business needs
  • Develop, lead, and maintain effective relationships with vendors
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in 7-step sourcing processes
  • Train and coach team on sourcing best practices to achieve desired outcomes
  • Support consistency, transparency, alignment, and synergies among all Sourcing and Category Management teams, creating an environment to remove silos in sourcing execution
  • Build and maintain deep subject matter expertise and industry knowledge within the established portfolio of products and services
  • Drive sourcing best practices and enterprise value through cross-functional engagement including stakeholders, legal, and other key partners
  • Support communications with cross-functional areas in establishing and sustaining this centralized sourcing function, ensuring compliance in the use of sourcing services
  • Closely partner with the IT team to ensure a total sourcing solution is delivered
  • Support end-to-end source-to-pay process by driving purchases through the e-Procurement tool

What you have to offer:

 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or merchandising—ideally within IT or retail environments
  • Proven expertise in sourcing IT services and navigating the Canadian vendor landscape
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to articulate sourcing plans both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated success leading procurement initiatives and delivering cost savings
  • Deep understanding of cost structures, operating plans, and value creation in sourcing
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with functional leaders and external partners
  • Experience developing and mentoring talent within a sourcing or procurement team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and results-driven mindset
