The Sobeys family is seeking a dynamic and experienced marketing professional to join our team. As a Sponsorship Specialist, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the day-to-day relationships with a growing portfolio of sponsorship partners, managing all accompanying sponsorship programs and bringing our grocery brands to life through execution of the strategic sponsorship plan.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

The Specialist, Sponsorship Strategic Partnership Marketing will be responsible for leading, developing and executing sponsorship plans amongst a portfolio of local + national partners. The role will coordinate the production and implementation of external marketing campaign tools as well as the resulting internal communications.

  • Act as a champion of Sponsorship to help bring the strategy to life for the consumer through sales driving integrated programs 
  • Collaborate with Loyalty, Brand Strategy, Store Marketing, Merchandising, CRM, external partners (sponsorship partners/suppliers/creative/media) on marketing programs that support the strategy including brief development, creative evaluation and tactical execution
  • Lead development of strategies and briefs and follow up with agencies, manage the production, program development and implementation of plans related to SCENE+ integration and supplier funded/monetized sponsorship programs
  • Lead management of requests from sponsorship marketing partners, suppliers, and other strategic marketing partners
  • Lead strong communication and information sharing between internal teams and prepare internal communications as required for programs
  • Assist with management and execution of project tracking for marketing calendars, business updates, and quarterly updates
  • Develop and manage marketing plan project work streams including workback schedules, project management and follow-ups, creative proof approvals and budget reconciliation
  • Work closely with Media, Insights and external partners to conduct pre/post-campaign reporting and analysis; identifying trends and recommendations for optimization

What you have to offer:

  • An Undergraduate Degree 
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in marketing, advertising, sponsorship, or retail / merchandising environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Passion for food and the intersection of food, family & experience
  • Knowledge of digital platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
