Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Specialist Digital Procurement to join our Strategic Sourcing team based out of our Mississauga, Ontario office.

Job Description

  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders (i.e. Business, Category Managers, Finance, Suppliers) to obtain data required to determine how to most effectively transition spend into automated procurement tools at Sobeys
  • Work closely with Strategic Sourcing teams and business users to understand current state and propose recommended approach to automate indirect spend
  • Conduct research (where required) to support direction for supplier enablement 
  • Align with Enablement Specialist to execute enablement activities as they relate to creation and launch transition of supplier spend into automated tool(s)
  • Leverage existing tools to make recommendations on the effective approaches to transition existing suppliers into digital procurement tool
  • Identify/document process flows to support enablement approach
  • Identify Sobeys users that will require transition into Ariba as result of enablement and partner with supporting teams (i.e. NDI, IT) to identify dependencies and action appropriately 
  • Execute enablement and transaction setup activities (i.e. catalog development) to facilitate successful transition of supplier spend into procurement tools (i.e. Ariba)
  • Develop processes, tools and systems to maintain catalog database and keep up-to-date
  • Develop catalog best practices, and creation of tools/templates to streamline and standardize digital procurement practices from strategic sourcing perspective 
  • Identify where catalogues can be utilized and deployed with internal stakeholders and vendor community
  • Develop methods / processes to transition suppliers to P2P tool and automate procurement processes to enable local level ordering and centralized visibility where required
  • Ensure automated procurement methods are integrated into procure-to-pay (P2P) processes and system (i.e. Ariba)
  • Update, maintain and track all articles in the relevant eCatalog system(s)
  • Conduct analysis and report on procurement-related metrics (e.g. compliance, terms)

Job Requirements

  • An Undergraduate Degree 
  • 5+ years relevant experience with procurement technologies (preferably SAP Ariba)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced MS Excel expertise (i.e.  pivot tables, v-lookups, macros) 
  • Experience with data analysis/visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI) considered an asset
  • Applicable industry experience (i.e. Procurement, Retail) considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to speak to various levels within the organization
  • Ability work independently with minimal direction and be self-driven
  • Applicable certifications (SAP/SAP Ariba) are desirable
  • Bilingual (English and French) is a strong asset
