The Category Marketing Specialist, Full Service will assist in the development and execution of integrated marketing plans for the Sobeys and Safeway banners, and possibly supporting other banners in the business. They will work with a cross functional team of internal and external/agency partners to help bring the category & departmental strategies to life for the consumer.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing plans for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather insights and data that inform marketing campaigns, including market trends, customer behavior, and competitive analysis. 
  • Support the Category Marketing Manager in executing in-store and digital marketing programs, coordinating with creative and production teams to deliver on time and within budget. 
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyzing key metrics such as impressions, engagement, and sales lift, and provide regular updates to the Category Marketing Manager. 
  • Maintain and update marketing calendars, ensuring all activities are accurately tracked and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including promotional flyers, digital assets, and in-store signage.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with peers and external partners, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Actively contribute to the development of new marketing ideas and tactics that drive customer engagement and sales.

What you have to offer:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline. 
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a marketing or communications role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with marketing software or tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform decisions.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The salary range for this position in British Columbia is $73000- $96000. We will consider factors such as your working location, work experience and skills as well as internal equity, and market conditions to ensure that you are paid fairly and competitively.
