Ready to Make an impact?

Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team!

At Sobeys, we’re investing in data-driven loyalty and personalization. Our Loyalty Solutions team is building the future of Personalized Offer Management, transitioning from vendor-led systems to in-house ownership. We’re looking for a Solutions Architect who can drive scalable, secure, and integrated architecture to support this transformation.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including analysts, developers, DevOps, marketing stakeholders, and vendor partners. This is a high-impact role that will directly shape how millions of Canadians experience personalized value from our loyalty programs.

This position is based out of Mississauga, ON.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

What you'll get to do in this fast-paced role:

  • Collaborate on high-level technical designs (HLTD), architecture diagrams, and integration flows — ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Participate in Blueprints, HLFD reviews, and high-level estimation and resourcing decisions.
  • Review and advise on platform scalability, observability, and performance (e.g., Azure Application Insights, Cosmos DB, event-based flows).
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cloud-native architectural designs using Azure PaaS, microservices, and API-first patterns.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives across Sobeys banners by designing reusable and composable services.
  • Leverage and assist with the evolution of enterprise architecture strategic goals.
  • Evaluate and provide input into discovery initiatives, business proposals and charters for new projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, techniques and processes to enhance software development and quality.
  • Coach technical leads and developers to promote consistency, reusability, and alignment with architectural principles.
  • Contribute to architectural governance, knowledge sharing, and documentation best practices within Loyalty Solutions.
  • Assist in the remediation of stability and performance of existing applications and systems.
  • Assist with context diagram(s) & architectural diagram(s).
  • Assist with the validate completeness of High level Technical design (HLTD) vs High Level Functional Design (HLFD).
  • Consult on recommendations for business process change with respect to total solution.
  • Assist in management of change (e.g., distribute tasks to be performed, monitor resources and task execution).
  • Determine business and technical requirements for the solution (all or partial).
  • Determine Strategy for High Level Design.
