Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst, Policies. This position has the option to be based out of our corporate office in Mississauga, ON.


As the Senior Financial Analyst, Reporting & Policies you are an integral part of the company’s Finance team and will support financial reporting close activities for complex accounting and policy research including preparation of recommendations and/or reporting materials related to these areas. In this role, you will report to the Director Finance, Accounting Standards & Policies and will be a key member of the CFO Organization.  


We are looking for an experienced analyst who is willing to dive into the details and looking to grow their career in Reporting and Policies. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who delivers high quality work and thrives in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate strategically with cross-functional teams. Here’s where you’ll be focusing:


•    Oversee preparation of supplemental reports for external reporting disclosures for quarter and annual reporting
•    Provide timely interpretation and direction on complex accounting issues and support the documentation of accounting memorandums
•    Responsible for monthly financial close process specifically with respect to the company’s compensation programs
•    Responsible for accurate and complete working papers and documentation
•    Support preparation of audit committee material
•    Collaborate with various functional teams to support appropriate financial reporting and controls
•    Actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities for various processes
•    Provide excellent level of customer service to all levels of the business
•    Communicate effectively with functional area managers and employees



What you have to offer:


•    Minimum 3-5 years working experience in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field 
•    Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
•    Accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
•    Proficient in Excel and Excel-based financial modeling
•    Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
•    SAP skills considered an asset
•    Strong analytical skills to obtain accurate and quality analytics
•    Excellent communication skills (both Oral and Written) to communicate to relevant stakeholders
•    Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, and under limited supervision
