Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Data Solution Lead. This role is based out of our office in Mississauga, ON

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

As a Senior Data Solution Lead with Sobeys you will:

 

  • Act as dedicated Senior Data solution lead for across Marketing, Loyalty & Digital data work streams (design of end to end solution, enabling data access for business and algorithm teams, delivery of data lake assets and processes, informatica DQ dashboards).
  • Act as data solution lead on Marketing, Loyalty & Digital data enhancements requiring support and integration of technology solutions teams to ensure all data components work together.
  • Accountable for efficacy and resiliency of data solution end to end; including working with Technology Solutions owners to make sure data validation is in place
  • Determine official sources of data and engage business data owners as needed to support Marketing, Loyalty & Digital business.
  • Mobilize data tasks across the rest of the EDO to support project (proactive data acquisition, cleansing , publishing etc).
  • Triage data issues impacting successful execution of project, identifying data owner needed to execute data correction.
  • Champion data best practices among business and technical teams.
  • Champion the EDO goals and guiding principles
    • Build trust in data and how we use it.
    • Establish and embed collaborative ways of working to accelerate our data transformation.
    • Champion the safe and scalable use of data across the organization.
  • Engage and direct Data Architecture, Data Governance and Data Engineering for required tasks.
  • Identify business owners to execute data correction activities; engage correct business teams who may need to update their business processes to mediate data quality issues.
  • Liaise with IT Product owners if data tasks require their involvement.
  • Understand full EDO data solutions needed end-to-end.
  • Communication of approach, dependencies, risks and progress of data tasks to stakeholders.

  • Minimum of 5 years of Data Solution delivery experience
  • And/or 5+ years of domain-specific expertise specifically in marketing, loyalty and digital data domains
  • Sound knowledge of effective data management practices (governance, data quality, data engineering, data standards)
  • Understanding of marketing data including customer, transactions, behaviour, campaign management, audience segmentation and digital data
  • Strong understanding  and prior experience of designing  solutions for customer data platform and identity resolution is an asset
  • Ability to collaborate with business teams to understand data impacts and define data standards
  • Ability to understand and capture data requirements; understanding of AI/ML and feature engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to design resilient data solutions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to drive joint roadmap with Business and IT teams
  • Experience in Data Product Management methodologies is an asset
  • Experience in Cloud-based data management platforms and ETL solutions such as Azure ADLS, Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica or similar.
