The Manager, Marketing will have a focus on In-store Pharmacy and will actively contribute to the Brand Strategy & Planning team and act as the champion for the seven in-store pharmacy brands (Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo, Chalo! FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, Foodland and IGA West) and the long-term health of the In-store Pharmacy strategy to drive customer script count and conversion growth, considering each specific banner brand promise and how In-store Pharmacy contributes to total business growth.

Job Description


•    Develop the strategy, plan, and execute the implementation of strategic marketing lead initiatives for In-store Pharmacy.
•    Champion building more meaningful customer relationships & enhanced customer experiences with In-Store Pharmacy, driving increased conversion
•    Responsible for supporting In-store Pharmacy retail programs & services, both in-store and out of stores with a robust emphasis on digital and social marketing to drive awareness.
•    Responsible for the management of advertising, digital marketing, in-store communications, go-to-market planning, and campaign analysis and post-reporting.
•    Develop marketing briefs for In-store Pharmacy brands and responsible for sharing with internal teams and agencies.
•    Oversee program integration across channels, negotiating activities between departments and execution for print, social and digital.
•    Oversight of campaign and advertising production for In-store Pharmacy brand campaigns; including flyer, POS, radio, ROP and social & digital content.
•    Maintain brand expression and standards for all In-store Pharmacy brands with alignment from brand leads across all channels.
•    Develop the annual Marketing business plan for In-store Pharmacy with alignment from Pharmacy Operations.
•    Responsible for the development and the execution of the long-term strategic plans for In-store Pharmacy across all seven banners. 
•    Responsible for budget management and reporting for own marketing program.


•    Manage and validate with the alignment of the Pharmacy Operations team, Local Store Marketing support requested to drive programs and customer acquisition for In-store Pharmacies 
•    Work in collaboration with strategic Agency Partners and Consumer Insights team, to review program results and prepare recommendations to improve effectiveness of campaigns or identify new areas of customer acquisition
•    Provides direction to marketing functional area leads in translating Pharmacy initiatives into customer communication products such as creative, POS, social and digital and flyer properties (inclusive of owned and paid channels)
•    Work in very close collaboration with Regulatory and Pharmacy Operations to ensure marketing messaging is aligned with Provincial College requirements
•    Collaborate with GO team to ensure In-store Pharmacy representation in overall campaign to support capital projects.

Job Requirements


•    An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience 
•    Strategic thinker with the ability to sell ideas internally throughout the organization as well as externally with third parties
•    Proven track record of collaborative leadership
•    Proven track record of managing diverse projects and working teams to reach goals and timelines
•    Curious, creative, passion for food and solution oriented
•    Experience with Pharmacy, OTC, Retaiil or CPG a strong asset
