Are you looking for an opportunity to work within a team of IT professionals, leading exciting large-scale projects, especially those relating to ecommerce?

As the Manager Tech Solutions - Mobile on the Marketing Solutions team at Sobeys, you will have the opportunity to drive the next generation of our Digital Experience Platforms (DXP) forward as well as provide maintenance / support. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB.

As a Manager Tech Solutions - Mobile with Sobeys, you will:


  • Manage a multi-skilled team in charge of a portfolio of products through its entire lifecycle.
  • Work with Business Partners to lead the development and ongoing refinement of the overall Product Strategy and Roadmap.
  • Own, lead and deliver a multi year technology roadmap that aligns with our overall enterprise and business vision, goals and objectives.
  • Manage a dynamic team supporting career development, performance evaluation and people management.
  • Ensure the product solution is built, configured and maintained to meet the business objectives and delivers the intended value.
  • Ensure all projects are successfully delivered on time, on budget, with the desired scope.
  • Work with the Centre of Excellence team to ensure compliance to the organizational quality standards for new or enhanced products or services throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Manage the support and maintenance of all Mobile applications in the Marketing portfolio, ensuring the business expected SLAs are maintained.
  • Own and ensure the backlog management is always current, accurately prioritized and categorized.
  • Be accountable for Vendor relationship management, including managing and maintaining all vendor contracts. 
  • Be accountable for the System Integrators helping with Marketing related projects or providing support for Marketing products.
  • Be responsible for overall proactive monitoring and SLA management between the various IT teams and the business.

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, related degree, or relevant experience in Technology.
  • Proven experience managing a mobile app development team for a large organization.
  • Proven success with managing large scale transformational level programs.
  • Strong understanding of a product life cycle.
  • Able to motivate team members and know how to efficiently make important decisions.
  • Proven ability to influence cross functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in retail and Marketing systems preferred.
