Overview

The Manager, Sponsorship will deliver Empires Sponsorship Strategy through programs and activation plans bringing to life Empire’s banner brands through omni-channel marketing communication plan and full-funnel go-to-market strategies. They will lead relationships with external stakeholders and cross functional internal teams to bring the strategy to life for Empire’s customers 

Job Description

  • Lead Empire’s brand positioning and value proposition through Empire’s robust portfolio of sports and entertainment partnerships at the National, Regional, Local & Store level including the development and activation of sponsorship programs aligning to Empire’s sponsorship strategy. 
  • Manage all sponsorship relationships including sports & entertainment properties, integrated agency team partners as well as cross-functional relationships (ie. Creative, media, loyalty, brand, shopper marketing, merchandising, operations etc.) to bring sponsorship programs to life
  • Ensure that Empire brand strategies, expression and standards are embedded within for all Sponsorship programs (Olympics, NHL, etc)
  • Drive the identification of supplier marketing program opportunities and assist with development of program execution from ideation to execution and management of supplier shopper marketing relationships and marketing asset monetization
  • Manage the review, assessment and contract negotiations for existing marketing sponsorships and new opportunities as they become available  
  • Responsible for the development of performance-enabled sponsorship measurement tool for evaluating the effectiveness of all sponsorships; leverage YoY insights to drive program optimizations and support agile partner relations
  • Budget Forecasting and Maintenance: Invoice processing and accruals, forecasting, monthly balancing
  • Manages workflow of team of Specialists and Coordinators, demonstrates a commitment to developing a positive and productive work environment
     

Job Requirements

  • An Undergraduate Degree 
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in retail, advertising, marketing or merchandising environment
  • Experience in sponsorship marketing or agency experience is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Passion for food
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset
