    Coordinating and managing files in connection with contests, commercial and transactional work across Canada.
    Assisting with time management and overall file maintenance for lawyers with respect to a vast array of commercial and transactional matters.
    Interacting with other departments to obtain information specifically to help complete a transaction.
    Assisting with general corporate legal work from the business.
    Interacting with lawyers and corresponding with outside counsel to review and complete documents. 


Job Description



•    Assembling and organizing information for legal documents 
•    Drafting various types of legal documents including, marketing and franchise agreements, service agreements, amending agreements, and short and long form contest rules according to general instructions for the lawyer’s review 
•    Document proof reading and editing 
•    Managing files from opening to the conclusion of the transaction 
•    Managing and assisting with various projects within the legal department 
•    Exercising initiative and judgment in assisting lawyers with administrative detail on files 
•    Under direction from lawyers, attend to filing or arranging for the filing of legal documents 
•    Reviewing files to confirm key timelines/deadline dates and updating these timelines and/or deadlines into legal diary systems 
•    Preparing memorandums to various departments within the business advising of any new or changes to any documents such as service agreements, franchise documents, leases and subleases 
•    Fielding, managing and responding to general inquiries from the business 
•    Organizing information from multiple departments for contests across Canada 
•    Preparing disclosure documents for franchise transactions across Canada 
•    Researching law and Acts in order to update legal precedents and documentation 
•    Reviewing files and responding to inquiries that do not require a legal opinion

Job Requirements


•    An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant 
•    Advanced knowledge of corporate statutes and corporate procedures 
•    Extensive experience in contest management and transactional work 
•    Extensive experience in drafting legal agreements 
•    Franchising experience an asset
