Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an opportunity for a Financial Analyst, Marketing (6 Month Term) to join our Finance department based out of our office in Mississauga, ON

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Responsible for analysis and reconciliation of Marketing activities to ensure the integrity of reports, budgets, and forecasts with regards to Marketing spend.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance measurement tools and reporting to further meet the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for timely completion and submission of annual Budgets and monthly Forecasting within prescribed deadlines.
  • Responsible for preparation and timely submission of accruals for period close process.
  • Prepare monthly reporting, variance analysis and commentary vs. budget and forecasts.  
  • Work closely with Marketing to improve accuracy of budgets and forecasts and ensure business accountability. 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sobeys Accounting Standards & Policies and CEO/CFO Certification requirements.
  • Various ad-hoc analysis and requests for reporting and reporting tools.

What you have to offer:

  • An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant finance / accounting experience, or a Diploma and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office, with Excel experience required
  • Working knowledge with SAP or similar accounting software is preferred
  • Accounting designation, or working towards one would be an asset
