We’re looking for a Digital Performance Media Specialist to help drive the planning and execution of integrated marketing strategies across all Empire banners. This role partners closely with internal teams and external agencies to deliver on key business strategies through digital & performance media.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

  • Lead or support digital media strategy, planning, and execution to deliver best-in-class marketing programs.
  • Collaborate with PR, Digital, Web, Loyalty & Social teams to support strategic development of digital customer journeys.
  • Coordinate and manage campaign timelines and workflows to ensure timely execution with internal and external teams.
  • Lead or support ongoing development, optimization, and documentation/reporting of digital marketing strategies with internal teams and media partners.
  • Drive media optimization conversations, leveraging performance insights to inform active and future campaigns (learning, insight & opportunities).
  • Foster strong working relationships with business stakeholders and external partners, including IT, media agencies, customer insights, analytics, loyalty, banner strategy and digital experience teams.
  • Analyze digital performance metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations for ongoing media improvement.
  • Participate in long-term strategic planning and fiscal marketing planning at the banner level.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external agencies to implement initiatives that align with overall marketing & business objectives.
  • Support budget tracking, including MPA approval processes and invoice reconciliation.
  • Lead or support monthly media performance reporting to internal business partners.

What you have to offer:

 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital marketing, media strategy, or performance marketing within a fast-paced, multi-channel environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering data-driven, results-oriented digital campaigns.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of large-scale media platforms and digital channels (e.g., programmatic, search, social, display).
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and manage external agency relationships, with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools and ability to interpret performance data.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing trends, platforms, and best practices.
  • Passion for food and customer experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/French is a strong asset as the candidate will be expected to work with peers in all provinces in the development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada.
