Ready to Make an impact?

We’re looking for a Project Manager to lead large-scale industrial construction projects, including our retail support centers. This role requires deep experience managing complex builds from start to finish—coordinating teams, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance across all phases. You’ll play a key role in translating technical plans into operational success, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Review geotechnical and environmental reports
  • Coordinate drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Align all aspects of the project with retail operations, including consultants, contractors, and equipment delivery
  • Communicate schedules and phasing to key personnel and facility operators

Budgeting & Contract Management

  • Establish and evaluate construction costs; serve as a resource for budget planning
  • Issue, negotiate, and finalize contract changes
  • Submit change order requests and CAR extensions for management approval
  • Scrutinize and approve/reject invoices and monthly progress claims

Execution & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure timely ordering of long-lead equipment and approval of shop drawings
  • Oversee inspections and testing of key components; manage documentation and follow-up
  • Conduct final inspections with consultants and municipal authorities
  • Obtain and distribute as-built drawings, warranties, and maintenance manuals
  • Lead year-end warranty inspections and final area certifications

Team & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Direct consultant involvement for technical verifications (e.g., air balancing, CPC panel wiring)
  • Participate in post-project interviews with National Finance

What you have to offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction or Architectural Technology
  • 8+ years of hands-on project management experience across all construction disciplines, with a strong focus on retail commercial developments
  • Proven experience in industrial construction, ideally involving retail support centers, distribution hubs, or operational facilities
  • Strong understanding of construction budgets, scheduling, and contract administration
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results
  • Bilingual in English and French would be an asset, as the candidate will be expected to collaborate with peers in other provinces and provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada.
