Job Description

Lead Regional Wholesale Related Business team

  • Coach, develop and empower sales team and drive employee engagement
  • Liaise with other related businesses (especially Convenience), seeking out areas of synergy and opportunity
  • oversee Ontario and Quebec territories

Own the Regional Wholesale P&L and drive strong performance

  • Manage sales team setting priorities/focus
  • Execute on the strategy for Wholesale business
  • Own the “on the ground” customer experience
  • Maintain profitable and productive relationships with customers
  • Define, communicate and achieve wholesale operating targets (financial, operational) and approach
  • Drive increased revenue and efficiencies to strengthen Wholesale's sales and profitability
  • Improve A/R position


Collaborate with National Merchandising and Marketing

  • Work with National Merchandising teams to provide input and establish priorities
  • Manage merchandising activities that are specific to channel (e.g. pricing approach for wholesale goods)
  • Support marketing activities (e.g. customer engagement, market research, customer insight)


Drive volume in Wholesale business across Ontario and Quebec to improve overall Sobeys warehouse efficiencies

  • Grow wholesale business through increased sales and new customers
  • Work closely with national team to identify opportunities to further strengthen national operation
  • Leverage company resources to reduce expenses, increase efficiencies and increase profit
Job Requirements
  • Ability to translate Strategy customer insights and market data into actionable steps
  • Ability to understand broader vision and interdependencies with other businesses
  • Ability to lead/coach/motivate team collectively and individually
  • Ability to communicate clearly and with impact
  • Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the retail grocery / convenience industry
  • Supervisory experience
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Ten years related sales experience
  • Bilingual French and English
  • Operations and/or Merchandising experience
  • Previous experience managing a sales territory
