Overview
Sobeys has an immediate opening for a truly strategic and dynamic role as a Loss Prevention Manager.
The Loss Prevention Manager will support all Sobeys Inc. affiliated regional banners across Northern Alberta to provide overall loss prevention services, support leaders and employees for employee protection, work with law enforcement Government agencies and actively contribute to a positive and productive working environment.
This role is based out of our Edmonton location, requires 40-50% travel and is eligible for a company vehicle.
The main job responsibilities are to:
• Provide advice and recommendations to Management personnel regarding the legal and practical aspects of loss prevention
• Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation, records, reports and statements
• Provide prompt and thorough investigations as required
• Review new security technology and strategies and make recommendations to management
• Assist in the development of security policies and procedures and loss prevention programs
• Conduct training and development programs in security and loss prevention
• Conduct loss prevention audits and make recommendations
• Respond to any emergency situation involving Company personnel, property or assets
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures
• Maintain liaison with various law enforcement and government agencies
• Conduct regular site visits
• Coordinate contracted services (investigators/security guards/etc.) for store support
• Ensure all security equipment at designated sites is properly utilized and maintained
• Ensure compliance with the EAS program (where applicable)
• Provide protection to all employees (as requested)
• Promote Regional Sobeys Employee Loss Prevention Recognition program
• Complete special projects
Job Requirements
• An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Security/Loss Prevention
• Full knowledge of industry operations
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft office suite
• Security/ loss prevention certifications such as ASP, CPP, CFE, LPC, or LPQ are an asset
