Job Description
Transportation Leader is responsible for all aspects of the trucking operations; drivers and equipment and dispatch to customers. Adherence to applicable provincial and federal regulatory standards is strictly enforced. Actively contributes to a positive and productive working environment.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
Key Business Functions, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities
· Determines the Manpower requirements and staff his/her shift appropriately reacting to any situation affecting his/her planning (Holidays, unplanned events, etc.)
· Schedule all departure times to ensure shipping staff have time to prepare loads to be shipped (execution).
· Strong financial acumen working with the team(s) to deliver the operating and capital budget.
· Monitors and report daily & periodic KPI’s, adjust process or execution based on data analysis.
· Monitor 3rd party carrier performance.
· Period end financial responsibility, processing accruals and period variance explanation.
· Respond to and ensure customer issues and discrepancies related to deliveries are handled in a professional and timely manner.
· Schedules equipment maintenance within Provincial Legislated requirements and ensure the safe operation of all Transport vehicles.
· Cross-dock management.
· Final mile transport including corporate, franchise and wholesale.
· Drive innovation and change management with a focus on store execution, cost control and safety.
· Recruits, trains, develops, motivates and coaches truck drivers, and provides regular feedback, including administering corrective actions as required.
· Communicates any relevant information to the employees.
· Coach, counsel and discipline as required.
· Demonstrates outstanding leadership, with a clear vision and consistent sense of direction and serves as a role model for employees.
· Ensures that the Health and safety rules are being followed.
· Ensures that systems and tools are being used as instructed.
· Reviews all Delivery Sheets and Trip Books to ensure compliance with Dept. of Transportation guidelines.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements.
· Compliance with all Company food safety standards, guidelines, and procedures.

Preferred:
• Working knowledge of TMS, JDA, EXE, SAP, Samsara
Educational and Working Experience Required
· Minimum of High School diploma and 2 years of experience in a warehouse or transportation company, or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Demonstrated successful experience leading warehouse or transportation employees
