Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are looking for top talent to join our team! We have a full-time opportunity for a Financial Analyst External Reporting to support our Management Discussion and Analysis.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

•    Prepare the interim and annual Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) for both Sobeys and Empire
•    Communicate and work in a collaborative manner to resolve senior management questions related to the content in the MD&A 
•    Assist in review of all legal entity statements
•    Prepare quarterly disclosure binder for CEO/CFO purposes
•    Submit monthly and annual Statistics Canada surveys and inquiries
•    Researching and benchmarking industry competitors
•    Work with external auditors quarterly during reviews and audits
•    Collaborate with members of Finance Shared Services, Tax, Accounting Standards & Policies, Investor Relations and other departments where necessary 
•    Collaborate across the organization to provide information on disclosure documents including but not limited to the Management Information Circular, Annual Information Form and Annual Report. 
•    Drive process improvement initiatives, ensuring process changes are appropriately implemented, documented and communicated
•    Complete special projects and ad hoc reports as assigned
•    This role allows you to gain experience and hours to work towards a CPA designation


 

What you have to offer:

 

•    University Degree plus 2 years experience
•    CPA designation or in the process of obtaining CPA is preferred
•    Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
•    Excellent financial analytical and problem solving skills
•    Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
•    Experience working with Financial Statements a must
